Daiquiri is awesome, and her laser’s not too shabby either. I’ve been going to Daiquiri for laser hair removal, and as much as it hurts, Daiquiri’s skill and patient-focus really do make the best of a bad situation. She uses a Yag laser. It hurts like an SOB – much more than waxing, and more than tattooing, but the results are PHENOMENAL! After the very first treatment, I didn’t have any underarm hair for weeks! Then, I could shave once a week, and even then it was very sparse/fine and I didn’t have any razor burn or discomfort like I used to when I shaved. (I’m skin type 3 (Italian/Western European with dark, coarse hair that I could literally shave twice a day and my underarms were never stubble-free even if they had just been shaved) I’m only two sessions in for underarms and one session in for legs, and the hair reduction is at about 50% for legs and 70% for underarms. Seriously.Fabulous results. I’m kicking myself for wasting so much money on waxing and waiting so long to do this.
Daiquiri knows what she’s doing and will try and make the treatments as comfortable as possible. Don’t be afraid to ask for numbing cream or cooling gel. The cooling gel really helps! Also, shave a couple of days after your treatments. I was waiting for the hair to magically fall out at the roots after the laser treatment, and that’s not how it works. For me, when I shaved, it didn’t grow back for 4 to 8 weeks depending on the location.
Great way to kick of the summer!
